An outage of the major US data center provider ThePlanet took a large number of internet services offline, including SimpleName. This outage lasted several hours and affected custom DNS, local control panel and email relay services.
While there are limits to what we can reasonably achieve to ensure immunity to such significant failures on the part of our infrastructure providers, we are investigating options to help reduce our exposure should these remarkable circumstances reoccur.
